Elaine "Vickie" Hildebrand

Elaine V. “Vickie” Hildebrand, 83, of Pana passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2026 in Decatur Memorial Hospital. She was born January 13, 1943 in Pana, IL, daughter of the late Theodore & Dorothy (Dorr) Hebert. Vickie married Roger Hildebrand on February 27, 1960 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana and he survives in Pana, IL.
Vickie was a graduate of Pana High School and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana. She worked as a CNA at the nursing home, retiring after 30 years. Vickie enjoyed cross-stitching, John Denver & collecting Moose memorabilia. She made the best noodles, rolls and coffee cake you would ever eat. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Vickie is survived by her children: Jacque (Stan) Smart, Oconee, IL; Kelly (Raymond) Buerk, Owaneco, IL; Scott (Nicole) Hildebrand, Rosamond, IL; Gretchen (Michael) Gordon, Pana, IL; grandchildren: David (Heather) Kinney, Megan (Justin) Orange, Whitney (Matt) Lewis, Jamie (Larry) Sandberg, Brandon (Ashton) Buerk, Connor Hildebrand, Cameron Hildebrand, Jessica (Chris) Johnson, Hannah (Avery) Hrabak, Tyler Gordon, Camille (Mason) Roberts, Grayson (Andrew) Gordon; great grandchildren: Evan Orange, Dallas Lewis, Allie Payne, Asher Orange, Haley Sandberg, Fisher Sandberg, Jaime Hrabak, Mo Hrabak, Holly Johnson and great-great grandchildren: Rhiell Buerk & Waylon Crosby. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Charles “Edwin” Hebert, Alice Mickey, Ervin Hebert.
Per Vickie’s wishes, cremation rights will be accorded and the family will host a celebration of life service at a later date.
Memorials in Vickie’s honor may be made to the Pana Community Hospital LiveWell Fitness Center and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
