Ed is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ivey Jo Weaver; their children David (Trish) Weaver and Mark (Cindy) Weaver; four grandchildren, Wendi Weaver, Braxton (Katie) Weaver, Madison, WI, Tyler (Erin) Weaver, Talia (Mike) Laquitara, Henderson, NV and eight delightful great-grandchildren who loved their "Papa"!
He was born on Valentine's Day, 1926 to Dolph and Mary Ella Weaver in Lufkin, TX. He volunteered for the Naval Air Corps right after high school and was stationed in Chicago. He later attended Southern Methodist University where he majored in Electrical Engineering and played on the golf team. He married Ivey Jo Land on September 8, 1950. Together they have enjoyed a wonderful life here in Bloomington and as they traveled abroad.
Ed loved to handicap horse races and even owned several race horses. He spent a lot of time with his buddies at the OTB! Libraries across the country have the book Ed wrote, "The 300 Year History and Genealogy of One Weaver Family". It took 10 years of travel and research to compile this family heirloom! Ed was an avid golfer who enjoyed the game with family and friends until his mid-eighties.
Ed will be fondly remembered as a gentle soul, a loving family man and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
