Edna Pearl Steele Obituary (1941

Edna Pearl Steele, 83 of Thayer, passed away peacefully, January 6,2025 at her home. She was born November 11, 1941 in Clinton, TN, the daughter of Lloyd “Bud” and Anna “Margaret” Violet. She was the oldest of 4 sisters and 1 brother. She married Donald “Duck” Clyde Steele on December 24, 1958 and they had a loving marriage of 66 years. Edna spent her life taking care of people, the first being her family and as a CNA at Memorial Hospital and later, at Sunrise Nursing Home. She was hopelessly in love with each and every one of her grandbabies. Edna is survived by her daughters, Lori Stamper and Terry Cornford; 4 grandchildren, Jeramy Spoor, Travis Steele, Destiny Simpson and Tim Sharp. She was also blessed with 11 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild along with one more on the way; brother, Kenny (Andrea) Violet; sisters Ethel Hays, Irene McElroy, Angie (Brad) Ishmael and Lisa (Stan) Workman along with nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Donald W. Steele. In keeping with her wishes, private family services will be held . Memorials are suggested and may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
