E. Lynn Meyer Obituary (1945

E. Lynn Meyer, 79, of Macon, IL passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024. A service to honor Lynn’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in South Macon Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church or South Macon Fire Protection District. Lynn was born on September 19, 1945 in Vandalia, IL, the son of Elmer John and Doris Ida (Schaal) Meyer. Elmer proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He married Carolyn Adele Lay on August 17, 1968. Lynn worked for Shell Oil Pipeline Company for over 35 years. He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Lynn was a devoted husband and staunch believer in Christ. His greatest accomplishment was the family he and his wife created and gained the most enjoyment from having them around. Lynn was passionate about farming, enjoyed mowing, camping and boating. He especially loved being able to help with remodeling for his family and friends. His actions showed the love he had for his family, even if his words said, “okay”. He was a giving person who always preached patience and to always be nice. Lynn is survived by his wife: Carolyn Adele Meyer of Macon, IL; children: Stacia Lynn (Trent) Logue of Blue Mound, IL, Brandon Leigh (Dianna) Meyer of Argenta, IL, Trista Lay Brand of Macon, IL and Sara Lanae (Eric) Ganiere of Blue Mound, IL; sister: Debbie Schwager of Isle of Palms, SC; brother: Bob (Stephanie) Meyer of Shobonier, IL; grandchildren: Kinser (Kayla) Maxwell, Skyler (Jabob) Reed, Spencer Maxwell, Maddie (Dawson) Roberts, Cassie Meyer, Cameron Meyer, Gavin Brand, Jadalin Brand, Kycin Brand, Blake (Tina) Ganiere, Cole Ganiere and Paige Ganiere; step grandchildren: Kyle (Melissa) Logue, Eli Logue and Sage (Zach) Lash; great grandchildren: Adelynn Reed, Averie Reed, Kennedy Roberts, Landon Roberts and Evelynn Ganiere; step great grandchildren: Emily Logue and Audrey Logue.
