Dorothy Lucille Gregory, aged 95, of Normal, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 5:35 PM on Friday, May 2, 2025, at The ARC in Normal. Born on July 2, 1929, in Cooksville, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of Homer and Leona Marshall Donaldson. Dorothy was united in marriage to Cedric Gregory, who preceded her in death.

Dorothy was a cherished mother to four children: Susan Jasper of Fairbury, IL; Eunice Lowery of Bloomington, IL; Edward (Barb) Gregory of Chenoa, IL; and Marc (Lori) Gregory of Hemet, CA. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Helen Simpsen of Virginia, and her devoted soul mate, Timothy Tipler of Bloomington, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Marcella Maloney; five brothers; one sister; one granddaughter; and three great-grandchildren, and one great great-granddaughter.

Dorothy was an active member of the Deaf Mute Club of Bloomington-Normal and found joy in sewing, shopping, attending stock car races at the FALS racetrack in Fairbury, and riding the city bus. She treasured spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and was known for her warm spirit and the way she never met a stranger. Her kindness and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington, Illinois. A graveside service will follow at 12:45 PM the same day at Wiley Cemetery in Colfax, Illinois, with Reverend Steve Evans officiating.
