Dorothy Louise Downey Obituary (1929

Dorothy Louise Downey, 84, of Moweaqua, IL passed away on Tuesday (June 25, 2013) in her residence. A graveside service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (June 29, 2013) at West Side Cemetery, Moweaqua. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be directed to DMH Hospice. Mrs. Downey was born on June 21, 1929 in Terre Haute, IN, the daughter of Ralph and Leona (Barber) Price. She was a homemaker and worked at the Eastern Star Home for 4 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Macon. Dorothy married Robert F. Downey on January 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on March 2, 1996. Surviving are her children: Connie Lee Gilbert and her husband Eugene of Moweaqua, IL, Janelle Wagoner and her husband Dr. Larry of Atlantic Beach, FL, Rev. James L. Downey and his wife DeAnna of Seymore, IN, John Patrick Downey of Moweaqua, IL; brother: Elmer Price and his wife Sue of Denver, CO; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Dorothy Denise "Dottie" Winberry, 5 brothers: Robert, Donald, Clarence, Melvin and an infant brother, 3 sisters: Hazel, Erma and Rosemary, 2 great grandchildren.
