Doris P. Reed

Doris Pauline Reed 96, of Blue Mound, IL passed away at 11:25 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014, in her granddaughter's residence.

A service to celebrate Doris's life will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound, IL. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon until service time at the funeral home. Doris was born April 27, 1918, in Springfield, IL the daughter of Elmer and Elva Grace (Baughman) Ferre. She married Guy William Reed in September of 1939. He preceded her in death in December of 1981. Doris was a retired accountant from the Autohaus-Fortense Dealership. She had formerly worked for CB Moore Chevrolet Dealership and for Lipe Motors. Doris was a member of the First Christian Church, Blue Mound.

Surviving is her daughter: Barbara Darlene Byrd of Sun City, AZ; twin-sons: Gayle William Reed and his wife Sheila of Decatur and Gary Wayne Reed of Blue Mound; sister: Marguerite Brown of Blue Mound, IL; grandchildren: Brandy Burris (Greg) of Oreana, IL and Casey Reed (Darci Goodman) of Blue Mound and five great-grandchildren also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one sister.
