Donald Petrie

Donald “Donnie’ Petrie, 78, of Girard, IL., passed away Monday, October 13, 2025 at his residence after a long and debilitating “battle” with Parkinson’s disease.

Donnie was born May 12, 1947, in Goldendale, Washington. He was the adopted son of Stuart and Loretta Petrie. He married Troi Gibbs on 08/04/2006.

Surviving are his wife, Troi Gibbs-Petrie of Girard; his step-daughters, Keela (Anthony) Walley of Auburn, IL, and Sydney (Erik) Gibbs of Florida; his step-grandchildren, Kory and Axton Walley; his brother, Duane Petrie; and his sister, Heidi Baglin. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donnie graduated from Bothel Highschool in Washington in 1965. He worked as a production manager for Boeing, and Virden Hardware for several years. Donnie was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks fan. He enjoyed being outdoors. Riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing on the Columbia River, and camping were some of his favorite things to do.

Per Donnie’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Girard, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Michael J. Fox Foundation.
