Donald E. Harris, 85, of El Paso, IL died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at his home. Cremation rites were accorded, and a memorial service will be 12 noon on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the First Presbyterian Church, Danvers with Rev. Kathy Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be 10 am until time of service at the church on Saturday . Memorials may be made to the family. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich memorial Home, El Paso, IL is assisting the family with arrangements. Donald was born November 18, 1933 in Bloomington, IL the son of Wilbur and Edna Williams Johnson. He married Karol L. Short on June 9, 1956 in Bloomington. She died March 13, 2018. Surviving are three children Karen (Dan) Dillow of El Paso, Christine (Jeff) Smith of Durand, and Gregory Harris of Madison, WI; two foster daughters Connie Brady of Normal and Cathy Roach of Alton; one brother Paul (Regina Mae) Harris of Topeka, KS; ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Don was a machinist and worked for K&K Tool and Die for over 30 years. He was a US Air Force Veteran. He always had a sense of humor and enjoyed dancing. He was a loving dad, grandpa, and brother who enjoyed his family.
