Dolores Kelly

Dolores M. Kelly, 92 of Tower Hill, IL went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 23rd, 2026. She was born February 8, 1934 in Pana, IL to the late Robert & Donna Vits. Dolores married Joseph Kelly on June 29, 1957 in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Pana, IL. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2004. Dolores was a homemaker and worked as a legal assistant and bank teller.
She was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Pana and a member of the Red Hats Society Chapter. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, canning and cooking. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Illini Basketball fan. She also enjoyed spending time with family including grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved her homemade applesauce and soupy corn.
Dolores is survived by her children: Sandra Justice, Springfield, IL; Joseph Kurt (Karen) Kelly, Arlington Heights, IL; Sally (John) Welzenbach, Woodridge, IL; Mark (Jennifer) Kelly, Effingham, IL; grandchildren: Kristin (Cory) Morgan, Kelsey (Eric) Rezba, Sean Kelly (Rachel Winger), Erin Kelly (Nicolae Sadovnic), Daniel Kelly, Emily Kelly, Jared Kelly; great grandchildren: Wyatt Morgan, Lolah Morgan, Evie Rezba, Jude Rezba and siblings: Janet (Gary) Dahler, Jerry (Sherri) Vits, Lila (Robert) Stumpf, Mike (Sherry) Vits. She was also preceded in death by her brother Robert L. Vits, and grandson Aaron Justice.
Funeral services for Dolores will be held on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with Father Joseph Havrilka officiating. Burial will be in McCoy Cemetery, Cold Spring Township, Tower Hill. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to HSHS St. John's Children's Hospital or Sacred Heart School of Pana and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
