Denis Robert Pinkston 53, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 2:40 p.m., November 20, 2014, in his residence. A service to celebrate Denis's life will be held at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at the Metropolitan Baptist Church, 2339 N. Oakland Ave., Decatur, IL. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials be made to the family. He was a self- employed flooring installation contractor. Denis was an avid fisherman and enjoyed NASCAR racing. Surviving are his children: Phillip Pinkston (Priscilla) of Horn Lake, MS, Lyndsey Rubio (Tino) of Cedar Park, TX, and Ashlee Pinkston (Lance Johnson) of Warrensburg, IL; brothers and sisters: Mike Pinkston (Shelly) of Marion, IL, Melody Stimac (Steven) of Edinburg, IL, Denise Pinkston of Warrensburg, IL Kenneth Pinkston of Mt. Zion, IL and Keith Pinkston (Shelly) OF Mt. Zion; grandchildren: Brooklyn Pinkston, Bethany Pinkston, J.T. Pinkston, Tatum Rubio, Payton Johnson, Ayvah Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
