Debra Stanberry

Debra Diane Stanberry, 48, of Pawnee, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Medical Center.

Debra was born April 11, 1978, in Geneseo, the daughter of Bill and Virginia (Lettimore) Schofield. She was raised by her stepfather, Carl Huffman.

Debra is survived by her husband, Aaron Stanberry of Pawnee; her two children, Courtney Schofield of Winchester and Andrew (Mary) Schofield of Pawnee; her three grandchildren, Declan, Hazel, and Nox; her three sisters, Angela (Donny) Long of Hillview, Caroline (Gary) Schulze of Waverly and Sandy (Jim) Montgomery of Virden; several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Carl Huffman; her sister, Regina Schofield; her two infant babies, Valerie and Carter; and her beloved dog, Bear.

Debra graduated from Virden High School. Later in life, she worked in home care, taking care of the elderly. She was very good at talking to people on the telephone. She was a die-hard Chicago Blackhawk’s fan and enjoyed reading and writing poetry. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home in Virden. A funeral service will follow the visitation at the funeral home on Saturday. Per Debra’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following services with private burial later.
