Debra Annette Claycomb Obituary (1945

Bloomington — Debra A. Claycomb, 80, passed away on April 24, 2026, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, IL. Debra was born on June 12, 1945, in Detroit Lakes, MN, and later adopted by James and Anita (Scholl) Meisner. She married the love of her life, Durad Claycomb, on September 21, 1963, in Bloomington, IL. He survives. Debra was fiercely loyal to her husband, Durad; her love never wavered. In the final years of her life, Durad was her steady support, caring for her with quiet strength and unwavering devotion. Their love came full circle, rooted in a lifetime of standing by one another. She is also survived by her children: Carl Wayne Claycomb, George (Pam) Claycomb, Tammy Sue Snow, Melissa Ann Fowler, and Jamie Tipsword; several brothers and sisters; sixteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. Debra was a strong, spirited woman with a feisty, stubborn personality - in the best way. Her facial expressions said everything before she even spoke. Her mix of toughness and love is exactly what made her so unforgettable. Debra had a love for the outdoors, whether fishing or gardening, but her greatest passion was being around her family. Most days, you’d find her at the kitchen table surrounded by family and cups of coffee. Debra was the matriarch, the anchor that held her big family together. Her presence reached far beyond her family, touching more lives than she likely ever realized. Many who weren’t related by blood still called her “Grandma” or “Little Debbie.” She was preceded in death by her parents; her son-in-law, Wade Fowler; her daughter-in-law, Susan Powell-Claycomb; her grandson, Bradley Powell; and her granddaughter-in-love, Amber Mailicoat. A public visitation will be held for Debra from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Beck Memorial Home, 209 East Grove Street, Bloomington, IL 61701. A graveside service at Hudson Cemetery will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026.
