Deborah A. Akers, 67, of Pontiac, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. at her home in Pontiac, IL. Private family burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in rural Pontiac, IL and cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials in honor of Deborah may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Deborah was born March 30, 1956 in Fairbury, IL to James and Lina (Nease) Lawson. She married Eldon Akers on November 17, 1982 in Lincoln, IL. He passed away October 26, 2011. Surviving are sister, Barbara Byrne of Pontiac; brother, James (Shelia) Lawson of Milton, KY; nieces, Erin Byrne of Pontiac, Tonja Smither of KY, Misty Dineen of FL, Ashley Lawson of KY; nephews, Erik (Jennifer) Tatum of Franklin, NC, Samuel Lawson of Columbus, IN, Orrin Mynes of Franklin, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and dog companions, Buster, Emmy, Dakota and Joe. She loved dogs, especially Cocker Spaniels.
