David Wargo

David A.Wargo, 61, of Thayer, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was born January 12, 1964, the son of George and Katherine Wargo.

Dave was a resident of Bryan Manor for three years. While there he worked in a workshop and made lots of friends. He was a part of Special Olympics for 35 years doing many sports like basketball, bocce ball, bowling, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, softball, golf, track and field. He was also a member of The Sons of American Legion. He worked at Goodwill for 35 years and Jewel Osco for 10 years. Prior to his residence at Bryan Manor, he was a resident at Brother James Court. He was a very strong, kind and loving guy with a very infectious smile.

Surviving is his mother, Katherine Wargo; his brother, Jim "Hawkeye" Wargo; his sister, Nancee (Mark) Kirby, his nieces, Tiffany (Adam) Beagle, Tera (Chris) Smith and Haley Wargo; his nephews, Mike and Hunter Wargo; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, George Wargo, and his brother, Mick Wargo.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025 at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home, Virden. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Airsman & Calvert Funeral Home, Virden. Interment will be in the Virden Cemetery.
