David A. Rice

David A. Rice, 77, of Blue Mound, IL passed away at 9:31 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, IL.
A gathering to honor and remember David's life will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. Memorial contributions may be directed to Blue Mound Memorial Library or Blue Mound United Methodist Church.
David was born on August 27, 1941 in Decatur, IL, the son of Wayne and Lois (Zimmerman) Rice. He married Sharon Kay Ogden on August 12, 1960. David retired in 1995 from Firestone Tire Company after 31 years of service and later worked at the Cerro Gordo Corn Plant for 8 years. David was a member of the Blue Mound Lions Club and enjoyed canoeing, riding and racing motorcycles and woodworking. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
David is survived by his wife: Sharon Kay Rice of Blue Mound, IL; daughters: Monica D. (Keith) Reynolds of Blue Mound, IL, Michelle D. (Brian) White of Waukesha, WI and Marla D. (Edward) Drellishak of Avon Lake, OH; brother: D. Lloyd Rice of Boulder, CO; sister: Delores (Bill) Rice-Logue of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Amber N. (Chas) Reynolds Prebil, Danielle L. Reynolds, Alexandria N. White, Alyssa L. White, Cole David Drellishak, Sarah (Ryan) Pubentz, Mitchel (Meg) Drellishak, Eric (Jillian) Drellishak and Abigail (Kyle) DeCoster; great grandchildren: Gianna and Dominic Prebil, Berlyn and Lillian Pubentz, Harlow Drellishak, Isaac Drellishak and Avery DeCoster.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Marian E. Rice.
