David Miller

David William Miller, 86, of Marshall, Illinois, passed away on August 25, 2025. He was born on December 11, 1938, in Oblong, Illinois, and served in the U.S. Army from 1962 to 1964.
David spent 35 years living in Macon, where he served on the Board of Education and City Council, and was deeply involved in the Macon United Methodist Church. He worked at A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. in Decatur for over three decades, retiring in 1988 as the Director of Commodities. Additionally, he was a member of the National Grain and Feed Association Board of Directors from 1976 to 1988.
David, a dedicated Mason, was raised in South Macon Lodge No. 467 in 1966. He served as Worshipful Master in 1974 and held many leadership roles, including Most Worshipful Grand Master of Illinois from 2003 to 2005 and Grand Treasurer until his retirement in 2011.
David was married to his first wife, Ramona, for 37 years before she passed away. They had two children, Chris and Kerrie (Michael).
In 1999, he married Sharon Buell, and together they made their home in Marshall. He also leaves behind three stepchildren, Jeff (Michelle), Marty (Joani), Joni (Mark), nine step-grandchildren, and many dear family and friends.
He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, reading, and listening to Jimmy Buffett, along with spending over 40 summers at his lake house in Wisconsin. He appreciated his winters in Florida and had a close circle of friends, with whom he liked attending garage sales, going to concerts and plays, and playing 'bar bingo.”
Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 6th, from 9:00 to 11:00 at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Macon with the funeral service at 11:00. Burial will follow at the Macon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to South Macon Lodge #467, 205 S. Front Street, Macon, IL 62544.
