David Kirkwood

David E. Kirkwood, 75, of Normal, passed away, Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his home.

His graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 4, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Bloomington with Rev. David Richardson officiating. Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington is assisting the family.

David was born June 29, 1950, in Bloomington, the son of Earl and Rosemary (Hoeniges) Kirkwood. He married Gail Connor on June 19, 1976, in Bloomington.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Kirkwood of Normal, a son, Connor Kirkwood of St. Louis, MO, a daughter, Kristen Kirkwood of Del Ray Beach, FL; three sisters, Cheryl (Mike) Mulcahey, Karen (Tom) Whalen and Colleen Lloyd, all of Bloomington; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Kevin Kirkwood and a sister, Jocelyn Anderson.

David graduated from Central Catholic High School and Illinois State University. He worked as a computer engineer for many years… He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Normal.

David enjoyed sports of any kind, but his favorite was baseball. He enjoyed watching his kids play, along with the Chicago Cubs and New Orleans Saints.
