David Kerr, Sr. Obituary (1956 - 2024)

David Kerr, Sr., 68, of Tower Hill passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. He was born May 5, 1956 in Sparta, TN, to the late J.L. & Evelyn (Clark) Kerr. David married Carolyn Davis on August 14, 1976 in Ohio and she survives in Tower Hill, IL. David was a handyman who did carpentry, drywall and electrical work. He also enjoyed working on cars. He loved playing dice, mahjong and backgammon. Along with his wife, David is survived by his children: Melinda (Jeromie) Taylor, Tower Hill, IL; Joesph Kerr (Jennifer Voudrie), Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Brandon (Leann)Taylor, Chandler West, Breanna Vice, Madison Kerr, David Kerr III, Jasmine Kerr, Derrien Kerr, Clayton Taylor & McKenzie Kerr; brother, Mike (Nikki) Kerr, Sparta, TN and sister-in-law, Karen Kerr. He was also preceded in death by his son, David Lynn Kerr, Jr. and brothers: James Douglas Kerr, Joe Lee Kerr, Ronald Kerr. Larry Kerr. Per David’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and the family will host a celebration of life at a later date. Memorials in David’s honor may be made to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
