David "Davey" Wayne Trickel Obituary (2023 - 2023)

HUDSON- David Wayne "Davey" Trickel, aged one month and 10 days, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Visitation will be from 4-7 PM on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, 209 N. Grant St., EL Paso, IL 61738. His funeral service will be at 11 AM on Friday, October 20, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. Keith Grogg officiating. Burial will be private for the family in Kappa Cemetery. Calvert- Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in El Paso is in charge of arrangements. Davey was born on September 6, 2023, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, a son to Cole and Christina Kaufman Trickel. He is survived by his parents Cole and Tina, of Hudson, his brother Colton, grandparents, Kristie (Robert) Wolfe, Dan (Cristy) Sorenson, Rick (Joan) Trickel, aunts and uncles, Kassie Wolfe, Justin Wolfe, Hugh (Amanda) Trickel, Willow Sorenson, Steven (Kaylyn) Hartz, Joey Hartz, great-grandparents, David (Mary) Kaufman, Don (Barb) Trickel, Tom Brennan, Wayne Sorenson, and several cousins. Davey was loved beyond measure by his parents, big brother, and endless family members and friends. He was known for being a big mama's boy and his grumpy face. He loved to snuggle with his mom and watch football with the family. Everyone enjoyed his full head of hair, but especially his mom who made sure to take care of it after each procedure in the hospital that messed it up. His dad was also very special to him. His dad was the one to place him in his mom's arms during his first breath and to lift him from her arms following his last. Davey gave the greatest gift that he could offer to the world by being an organ donor and he was honored with all his family and loved ones as he made his journey.
