Darrell E. Smith Obituary (1920 - 2007)

Darrell E. Smith, 87, of Stonington, IL died at 3:45 am Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, Taylorville, IL. He was born April 14, 1920 in Owaneco, IL the son of Hazel May Smith. He married Doris Tyler in December 1944 in Stonington, IL and she preceded him in death on July 8, 1991. Mr. Smith was an inspector for Mueller Company in Decatur, IL retiring in 1982 after 38 years of service. He had been a member of the former Calvary Baptist Church in Stonington. Surviving are his son: Richard A. Smith and wife Sharon Kay of Taylorville, IL and daughter: Victoria K. Yeiser and husband Joseph of Brunswick, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother and wife. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Ponting Cemetery, Stonington, IL. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, December 10.
