Daniel J. Shubert, 68 of Pontiac, IL died Saturday August 24, 2024 at 12:10pm at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal, IL. His funeral will be held on Thursday August 29, 2024 at 11:30am at Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, IL with Pastor Andy Huette officiating. Cremation rites will follow the funeral service. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30am until the hour of services. Memorials in Dan’s name may be made to the family. Dan was born on January 18, 1956 in Pontiac, IL a son of Anton J and Dorothy Eileen (Lewis) Shubert. He married Judy Vaughn on November 26, 1976 in Pontiac, IL. She survives in Pontiac, Also surviving are three daughters: Kristi (M. Scott) Harrington of Pontiac, Il, Shelli (Tom) Christian of Lowell, IN and Tanya Shubert of Spartanburg SC; five grandchildren: Kara and Kayla Garretson, Steven Lindsay, Paul Christian and Mackenzie (Brandon) Crews; six great-grandchildren: Alyce, Benji, Archer, Fynn, Nevaeh and Christian; four brothers: Keith (Jeanette) Shubert of Singapore, Gerald (Diana) Shubert of Pontiac, IL, Paul (Sharon) Shubert of Cahokia, IL, Timothy (Linda) Shubert of Goshen, IN; one sister: Karen (Andrew) Beaty of Bloomington, IL. Dan was preceded in death by his parents. Dan was a graduate of Saunemin High School. He was a truck driver and was employed by Interlake Steel Co for thirty-one years. He later drove a school bus for Pontiac, Graymont and Flanagan schools. Dan attended the Grace Community Church in Gridley, IL. Dan was a White Sox fan and loved to cheer on his Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and camping at Kentuckianna Camp Ground. He loved to play cards and practical jokes on everyone.
