Cyrus M. "Pete" Sills Obituary (1926

Cyrus M. "Pete" Sills, 89, of Oakley, IL passed away on Monday (October 26, 2015) at Hickory Point Christian Village. A service to celebrate and honor Pete's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Dawson & Wikoff, North Chapel with Rev. Amy Ziettlow officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Cerro Gordo Cemetery with military rites. Memorials can be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Pete was born on Sunday, August 15, 1926 the son of Henry Marion and Ida Mae (Prescott) Sills. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Pete married Melba Louise Lewis on December 3, 1965. He is survived by his three children: Perry (Kim) Sills of Oakley, IL, Tim (Diane) Sills of Cerro Gordo, IL and Mindy (Dan) Zimmerman of Decatur, IL; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; one sister: Bonnie Dickson of Decatur, IL; two brothers: Harold (Millie) Sill of Decatur, IL and Henry "Hank" (Ann) Sills of Bethany, IL.
