Corena R. Bennett

Corena R. Bennett, 82, of Taylorville passed away at 12:35am Tuesday July 29, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born August 8, 1925 in Moweaqua Illinois, the daughter of Colonel and Emma Rigsby Allison. On July 2, 1953 she married Harry L. Bennett in Moweaqua. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2005. Mrs. Bennett was a homemaker and known as Grandma Bennett to the many children she babysat for in the Stonington area. She loved to play bingo and poker, and spend time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters: Linnae Buesinger, husband Henry, of Morrisonville, LeAnn Bennett of Melbourne FL, and Linda Stork, husband Dan, of Melbourne FL. Grandchildren: Kristy Buesinger and Todd Buesinger of Morrisonville, Patrick Stork of Palm Bay Florida, Michael Stork, wife Carla, of Malabar Florida, and Daniele Shearer, husband Omar James, of Mims Florida. Great Grandchildren: Kayla, Kelsie, and Hope Stork of Palm Bay Florida, Max Stork of Malabar Florida, and Faith and Meadow Shearer of Mims Florida. Sister: Jacquetta DeClerck of Decatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers John Allison and Leslie Allison, and sisters: Mildred Bailey, Ina Bell Lowber, and Eleanor Perryman.

Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday August 2nd at 10am in Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
