Constance "Connie" L. Larkin Obituary (1946 - 2024)

Constance “Connie” L. Larkin, age 78, of Odell, IL, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 2:10 a.m. at Accolade Healthcare in Pontiac, IL. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Odell, IL. A visitation will be held the night before, Monday, April 1, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. also at the church. A rosary will be recited before the visitation starting at 4:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow the services at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery in Odell. Father David Sabel will be presiding over her services. Memorial contributions in Connie’s memory may be made to the family or to cancer research. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Connie was born on February 2, 1946, in Pontiac, IL, to John “Bill” and Colletta (Hogan) Verdun. She married John J. Larkin on April 16, 1966, at St. Paul Catholic Church. He survives in Odell, IL. Other survivors include her son: Dale (Jenny) Larkin of Pontiac, IL; grandchildren: Jacob (Ashley Harfst) Larkin, Libby Larkin, and Emily (Wade Tomes) Bucks; and one great-grandchild: Mikayla Tomes. She is also survived by her siblings: Cathy (Ron) Masching, Joan (Jerry) LoPiccalo, Donald Verdun, Wayne (Debbie) Verdun, and Glen (Cindy) Verdun, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son: Joe Larkin, two sisters-in-law Mary Verdun and Ann Cruise, and two nephews: Mark Verdun and Lee Verdun. Connie graduated from St. Paul High School in Odell. She farmed alongside her husband John for almost 60 years. Connie worked outside the home at Good Samaritan in Flanagan for many years as a Dietary Director. She later worked for Livingston County as a housekeeper, retiring in 2017. Connie served her community on the Odell School Board and as an election judge for Union Township. She was a proud lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Odell. Connie was one of the nicest, sweetest ladies around. Most importantly, she loved watching her grandkids in all the activities they participated in. She enjoyed baking when her family was in the fields, gardening with Libby and family gatherings with her siblings. Being with her family out on the farm and making memories with them was her favorite way to spend time. Those memories will carry on with them. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
