Constance Rae "Connie" West, 83, of Bloomington died at 3:40 a.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at her home.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 22, 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Rev. Jeffery Windy officiating. Interment will be at St. Marys Cemetery, Bloomington immediately following services. A prayer service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with a visitation immediately following until 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude - Midwest Affiliate, St. Vincent de Paul Society or Advocate Hospice.To express condolences online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.comrnrnShe was born September 13, 1932 in Danville, daughter of James and Bernice Hill Whalen. She married Richard C. West on January 3, 1956 in Bloomington, he preceded her in death on July 4, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann West and one sister, Janice Colton.Surviving are three daughters, Donna (Bill) Franzoni and Diane (Charlie) Brown, both of Bloomington and Lisa (Joseph) Phelan of St. Charles, MO; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Ron Whalen of Normal, Maury (Floranne) Whalen of Hudson and Steve (Tracy) Whalen of Bloomington and one sister, Rita Brenner of Bonita Springs, FL.Connie retired from Purity Baking Company in Bloomington.She was an avid BINGO player, enjoyed the river boats and vacationing in Las Vegas. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Bloomington.Connie was a loving wife and a caring and nurturing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered by all who knew her for her honesty...she could never tell a lie.We will miss our "Irish Angel." Until we meet again!
