Clarence Ade

Clarence “Eli” Ade, 98, of Pana passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 in his home. He was born September 21, 1925 in Pana to the late Harry E. & Emma May (Bruns) Ade. Eli married June Anderson on June 27, 1948 in the Ohlman Church, recently celebrated their 76th wedding anniversary and she survives.
Eli served in the U.S. Air Force and worked his entire life as a farmer. He was a member of the United in Faith Church, Pana and Pana American Legion and a past member of the Pana Eagles & Pana Elks. Eli enjoyed square dancing, traveling to Branson & Texas and watching old westerns & sports.
In addition to his wife, Eli is survived by his children: Donna McGlauchlen (friend, Kenneth Everly), Pana, IL; Sandy (Ken) Herbord, Pana, IL; Kathryn Darrah, Pana, IL; Dennis Ade, Rosamond, IL; Penny (Steve) LaVick, Lake Elmo, MN; grandchildren: Ashley (Nick) Elvers-Wrigley, Todd (Tara) Herbord, Tami (James) Dixon, Stephen (Taylor) LaVick, Ryan (Michelle) Herbord, Sarah (Collin) Betts, Clarence “Coy” Ade, Wade Ade, Kristen (Jay) Darrah Rupple, Mark Darrah, Jamie (Heather) Bearup; great-grandchildren: Shay (Terra) Herbord, Ariel (Daniel) Goatley, Myah (Christian) Miles, Owen Herbord, Kade (Tayler) Herbord, Zoey Herbord; Andrea, Haley, Wesley (Sierra) Dixon; great-great grandchildren: Aria Miles, Theodore Miles, Wrenlee Dixon. He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, John Darrah and siblings: Anna Ade, Higgins Ade, Glenn “Pete” Ade, Lloyd Ade. He was also preceded by his granddaughter, Jodi McGlauchlen and great-granddaughter, Zorah June Dixon.
Funeral services for Eli will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with Pastor Leon Goff officiating. Burial will be in Rosemond Grove Cemetery, Rosamond with military rites by Pana Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Memorials in Eli’s honor may be made to the United in Faith Church, Pana or Land of Lincoln Honor Flight and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
