Chyrl Armer

Chyrl S. Armer 76, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 10:55 a.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2026, in her residence.

A service to honor Chyrl’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 31, 2026, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 p.m. Thursday evening until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Chyrl was born August 26, 1949, in Decatur, IL the daughter of Albert and Delores (Thornton) Jones. She married Gerald T. “Tom” Armer on September 14, 1968. Chyrl had previously worked for the University of Illinois Extension Office. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion.

Surviving is her husband: Tom of Mt. Zion; sons: Jeremy Armer (April) of Chicago, IL, Todd Armer (Michelle) of LaGrange, IL, and Aaron Armer (Jenny) of Sussex, WI; brothers: Terry Jones (Linda) of Scipio, IN, Steve Jones (Sheryl) of Niantic, IL, and Roger Jones (Karla) of Decatur, IL; sister: Debbie Beckett (Jim) of Decatur, IL; brother-in-law: John Armer (Connie) of Bethany; sisters-in-law: Sarah Dolan (Lynn) of Normal, IL and Mary Dunn of Leesburg, FL; grandchildren: Ava Armer, Harlow Armer, Chloe Armer, and Octavius Armer.

Chyrl was preceded in death by her parents.
