Christopher "Chris" Beard Obituary (1962

Christopher "Chris" Beard, 56, of Tower Hill passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 in Pana Community Hospital. He was born April 4, 1962 in Pana to the late Larry Eugene & Sheila (Shivers) Beard. Chris attended Christ Tabernacle in Herrick and worked as an auto mechanic. He loved driving demo derby cars & Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Chris married Charnell Durbin in 1991 in Taylorville and she survives in Tower Hill, along with daughter, Carla Durbin (Brittanie), Cowden, IL; 2 grandchildren: Cameron Jones & Autumn Jones; brother, Travis Beard (Katie), Oconee, IL; sister, Mitzi Askins (Clark), Taylorville, IL; aunts & uncles, nephew, Brendon Smith; nieces, Lyndsay Cooper, Layney Askins (Stephen), Lyshya Askin, Felicity Beard; and 4 great nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Melvin & Edith Beard and Byron & Dorothy Shivers; baby brother, Luke; and niece, Lacy Jean. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeremy Suey officiating. Burial will be in Twin Pines Cemetery, Pana. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the funeral home. The family requests casual attire be worn. Memorials in Chris's honor may be made to the family and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
