Christopher James Smith, 59, of East Peoria, IL passed away at 11:05 p.m. a.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at his home surrounded by family. A private family visitation was held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, IL. Cremation rites will follow and a private service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to his fiancé Robyn Elizondo. Chris was born on December 19, 1966, in Gary, IN the son of Edmund and Phyllis Burroughs Smith. Surviving are his brothers and sisters; Kenneth Smith of Creve Couer, Vickey Pinneo of East Peoria, Darryl Smith of Brownsburg, IN, Charles Smith of Pekin, Tim Smith of Eureka, Michael Smith of Dunnellon Florida; and several nieces and nephews. His sons Chad, Cyle and Craig and their mother Carmen of Germantown Hills. His Fiancé Robyn and their grandchildren they adopted Emellia, Bentley and Austyn of East Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Coltan. Chris has worked in construction for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
