Christina Wilson

Christina N. Wilson 73, of Decatur, IL, formerly of Gallipolis, OH, passed away at March 22, 2026 at 11:50 p.m., in the Mt. Zion Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Chris was born February 5, 1953, in Greensburg, PA the daughter of Robert Francis and Mary Agnes (Kelly) Nelson. After graduating Greensburg Central Catholic school, Chris attended Seton Hill College where she met her husband, Greg. Soon after graduation they married in October 2, 1976 and moved to Gallipolis, Ohio to start a family.

Chris had a fulfilling career as a Dietitian at the Gallipolis Developmental Center, was a devoted mother and devout Catholic. She attended St. Louis Catholic Church and later Holy Family Parrish in Decatur, IL. She enjoyed volunteering and was very active with the GAHS band boosters. Chris enjoyed reading, baking Christmas cookies, the beach, and doting on her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband Greg of Decatur; daughter Rebecca McCoy (Randy) of Long Creek; son: Michael Wilson (Shawn) of Corning NY; brother: Bill Nelson (Holly) of North Carolina; granddaughters: Megan McCoy and Emily McCoy; special friend: Sue Henson (Wade) of Gallipolis, OH.

Christina was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Nelson and her grandson: Gilbert M. Craig IV.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Bruce Scott, Celebrant. Inurnment will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with services. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic School (Field Trip Fund).
