Charoletta Mae Bergin Obituary (1934

Charoletta Mae Bergin, 88, of Pontiac, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Piper City Rehabilitation Center in Piper City. Services will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation held one hour prior to the service at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac with Reverend Vern Hoaglund officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Pontiac. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Charoletta was born on November 20, 1934, in Monroe Township, Clarion, Pennsylvania to Emery R. and Hilda C. (Slater) Kifer. She married William Bergin on April 11, 1995, in Kankakee. He passed away in 2005. Surviving are her children, Nancy C. Yohnka of Danforth, David L. (Zenobia) Yeany of Marionville, PA, Robert N. Yeany of Sligo, PA, Gregory A. (Joni) Yeany of Knox, PA, Timothy G. (Dan Burkett) Yeany of Rimersburg, PA, Jimmie D. (Bobbie) Ramsey of Chebanse, Diane L. (James) Krueger of Pontiac, Tina M. (John) Franks of Vernon, AL, and Dale L. (Sarah) Ramsey of Macomb; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Marlene Brazell of Gaston, SC. She is preceded in death by her parents; son, William Yeany; brothers, Eugene Kifer, Harry Kifer, Jerry Kifer, and Leroy Kifer; and sisters, Martha Sparrow and Irene Watson. Charoletta was educated in Pennsylvania and finished her schooling at Kankakee Community College. She was employed with Manteno State Hospital for over 25 years, then the State of Illinois at Shapiro Center in Kankakee as a tech 4. She retired after 27 years in 1995. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pontiac. Charoletta loved spending time in her yard, especially gardening. She was also known for finding garage sales in the area.
