Charlotte was born in San Francisco California to Clinton W. and DorisE. Decker. Within days the family moved to Pullman Washington and Washington State University. The family then moved to Seattle where Charlotte and Don met at the University of Washington. They were married September 14, 1991.

After stops in Pennsylvania for Graduate school and Stanford for a research fellowship they arrived in Bloomington-Normal and ISU. Once settled, Charlotte decided to complete her education. She completed her BA on December 14, 1991.

During their first year in Bloomington Charlotte and Don attended an ISU women’s basketball game for a state championship held at the University High School gym. They were hooked. Women’s basketball quickly became one of her favorite things with volleyball following soon after. When the IHSA championships
came to town, Charlotte was all in. She volunteered as a team hostess until advancing year dictated a less active role. Over the years Redbird and CEFCU became Charlotte’s place.

There will be a Celebration of Life event on December 9 in the Legends Room at CEFCU arena from 4:00 to 5:30 with a short program at 5:00. CEFCU is at 232 West College Avenue. The Legends Room is accessible through lower northeast entrance to the arena. Parking is available inlot F-62 on the East side of the arena..
