Charles Morris Jr.

Charles C. Morris Jr. “Chink” 77, of Decatur, IL passed away at 7:57 pm, Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in his residence.

Chink was born December 19, 1948, in Decatur, IL the son of Charles C. and Clarice (Choate) Morris Sr. He served his country in the US Marine Corp and was a Vietnam War veteran. Chink married Linda K. Long on March 30, 1972. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2023. Chink retired from Caterpillar. He enjoyed fishing, sports, spending time with his grandchildren, and a good game of cards.

Surviving is his son Charles Morris III (Chelsey) of Forsyth; daughter: Michelle Copass of Decatur; brother: Clark Morris (Sue) of Mt. Zion; sister: Cheryl Roberts of Mt. Pulaski; grandchildren: Kylie, Kendryk, Kinsley and Charley Mae.

Chink was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one his brother: Craig.

A graveside service to honor Chink’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL. Military honors will be provided by the Macon County Honor Guard. Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion is assisting the family with services.
