Carolyn Gay Manning Tipsord

Carolyn Gay Manning Tipsord, 83, of Mahomet, IL passed away 4:24 A.M. September 23, 2026 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL.

Services will be 3 PM Sunday September 27th, 2026 at Calvert Funeral Home, DeLand, IL with Pastor Alec Underwood officiating. Burial will follow at DeLand Cemetery, DeLand, IL. Visitation will be 1 to 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Deland American Legion.

Carolyn was born July 9, 1943 in Urbana, IL the daughter of Paul and Margaret W. (Burgin) Manning. She married Bill Carr December 14th, 1963. She later married Wayne Tipsord, Jr. July 2, 1993 in DeLand, IL. He passed away June 1, 2000. She later married Jeff Wells, whom she celebrated 26 years with.

Survivors include her husband Jeff Wells, Mahomet, IL. Children, Kimberly Wachtel, Bradenton, FL, Paul Carr, St Peters, MO, Melanie (Scott) Moore, Madison, AL, and Matt (Starla) Carr, Monticello, IL; Twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents

Carolyn worked at Carle Hospital in Urbana, IL for 18 years, as a medical assistant. She loved to read, attending her children’s and grandchildren’s events, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
