Carolyn Eileen Conn (Poindexter) was born on May 11th, 1944, in Bloomington, IL to Opal Pearl (Turner) and Paul Poindexter. She attended Le Roy High School and was a graduate of Normal Community High School. She married Lloyd J. Conn on October 17th, 1965, and was happily married for 39 years. She is survived by her five children Gary (Kathy) Conn; Jennifer Long; James (Christy) Conn; Wade (Erin) Conn; and Greg (Kelly) Conn all of Le Roy, IL. Thirteen grandchildren- Wyatt, Katie (Andy), Jessie, Andrew, Noah (Mary), Colton, Clayton, Jasmine, Porter, Annie, Evan, Emily, and William. One sister Cynthia (Karol) Copley and sisters-in-law Darlene (Joseph-d) Poindexter, Carolyn (Robert-d) Walker, and Carolyn (Norman-d) Conn.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lloyd; brothers and sisters: Paul (Donna) Poindexter; Bertha Bell (Ted) Yates; Joseph Poindexter; Charlene (Howard) Swallow; and Jim (Susan) Poindexter.
In her earlier years Carolyn worked for State Farm before taking on her favorite job of staying home and raising her five children. Later she worked at family owned Poindexter’s IGA, Pioneer Hi-Bred and Salt Creek Crafts with her husband and family.
Carolyn was a devoted member of the Le Roy Christian Church. She was a good and faithful servant. She lived the lessons she taught; be kind to others, always help those in need, and put others first.
She was beloved in the community and was well known for her beautiful smile, encouraging words, and delicious pies. She would take time to listen, and offer a prayer for those who needed one. She never knew a stranger, only friends she hadn’t met yet.
Carolyn fiercely loved her family and that feeling was mutual. She was the best mom and grandmother. She spent countless hours supporting her kids and grandkids at sporting events, musicals, concerts, and community events. She would cheer on the entire team, not just her own, in case someone might not have someone there watching. We always understood. That in itself was the lesson.
She lived a simple life, filled with faith, family, and friends. A Simple and Beautiful life. She has earned her ultimate reward. Well done, good and faithful servant. She will be deeply missed by all. Until we see you again.
