Carolyn Bouchez

Carolyn R. Smart Bouchez, 77, of Pana passed away Friday, October 16, 2026, in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield. She was born October 9, 1949, in Pana, IL to the late Hollie Wayne & Vera (Anderson) Smart.
Carolyn was a graduate of Pana High School. She enjoyed drawing and listening to country music. She had a special place in her heart for her calico cat, Callie.
Carolyn is survived by her siblings: Kenny (Carol) Smart, Herrick, IL; Helen Baker, Jonesville, LA; Larry (Karla) Smart, Tower Hill, IL; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Mervin Smart, Melvin Smart, Garold Smart, William Smart, June Rehfelt & Joy Winter.
Funeral services for Carolyn will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Paul Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in Price Cemetery, Oconee. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Memorials in Carolyn’s honor may be made to the Oral Cancer Foundation and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
