Carol Allen

Carol J. Allen, 79, of Pana passed away, surrounded by her family, on Sunday, September 21, 2025 in her home. She was born December 12, 1945 in Pana, IL to the late Arthur Earl & Alta (Keeling) Sanders. Carol married Steven H. Allen on June 30, 1962 in Hopewell Baptist Church. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2020.
Carol had worked at Wal-Mart and was also a homemaker, who was a fantastic cook and was the best noodle maker. She was a member of the Pana Christian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher. She loved serving her Lord first and then others. She was a loving wife, mother & sister and always took care of her family. She had a servant’s heart and would selflessly take care of others in need without recognition.
Carol is survived by her children: Paula (Richard) Lawless, Streater, IL; Kelly (Kent) Sims, Pana, IL; Jeff Allen, Pana, IL; grandchildren: Ben (Amber) Kindermann, Jeremiah Kindermann, Mitchell Lawless, Tyler (Marissa) Sims, Whitney (Quincy) Wood & Logan Sims; great grandchildren: Kylie (Brian) Albertson, Kalynne Kindermann, Ephram & Addison Wood, Hudson & Avery Sims and one great-great grandchild on the way and siblings: Sharon Lipe, Nokomis, IL & Connie Miller, Pana, IL. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Roy Sanders, Clifford Sanders, Robert Sanders, Dorothy Lawrence, Elsie Lawrence, Genevieve Davis, Vickie Elmore & Charles Sanders
Funeral services for Carol will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Dave Altman officiating. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until service time in the funeral home.
Memorials in Carol’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
