Carol Ruth Shultz, 70 of Bloomington passed away at 7:38 AM on Monday January 7, 2019 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.\r\nThere will be a funeral service for Carol on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at 12 PM at Beck Memorial Home in Bloomington. Reverend Curt Rush will officiate. There will be a visitation from 11-12 PM at the Memorial Home. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington\r\nCarol was born September 3, 1948 in Normal to Raymond and Ruth Rieck Scharf. She married Franklin Shultz on January 4, 1975 in Bloomington. He preceded her in death July 4, 2017. She is survived by three children, Sharon Crook of Madison, Ohio, Shelia (Dennis) Ball of Bloomington and Amy (Mitch) Lawler of Sullivan, two grandchildren Calvin Lawler and Chase Crook, and one brother Gerald (Sue) Scharf of Deer Creek. She was preceded in death by her infant son John William Schultz. \r\nCarol attended Park United Methodist Church in Bloomington. She was a homemaker. Carol enjoyed reading and watching Nic at Night with Franklin. She was a pet lover and especially loved to spoil her grandson Calvin.\r\nMemorial contributions may be made to Central Illinois Humane Society or the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
