Carol June Jones Obituary (1936 - 2024)

Carol June Jones, 87, of Saunemin, IL died Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 5:00 pm at her residence. Her graveside service will be held on Monday, January 22, 2024, at 11:00 am at Sunnyslope Cemetery, Saunemin, IL with Ken Jones officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials in Carol’s name may be made to the family. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is handling the arrangements. Carol was born on June 5, 1936, in Byers, Oklahoma, a daughter of Charles A. and Christine (Hunt) Cleburn. She married John A. Jones on August 29, 1953. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2010. Survivors include two daughters, Christina McCormack and Lisa (Scott) Eidenmiller; two grandchildren, Angela Bristow and Amanda (Joshua) Gourley -Wiseman; three great-grandchildren, Zoe Hocker, Andrew Hocker, and Quinn Wiseman. Carol was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Swinehart. Carol was educated in Saunemin schools and was a homemaker. She enjoyed working part-time at Dairy Queen in Pontiac for several years.
