Brian D. “Cowboy” Simpkins Obituary (1977 - 2024)

FLANAGAN- Brian D. “Cowboy” Simpkins, 46, of Flanagan, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the funeral home to help defray the cost of funeral expenses. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home in Flanagan is assisting the family. Brian was born on November 30, 1977, in Connersville, Indiana, a son to Donald and Joan Rigney Simpkins. He married his best friend and soulmate Abbi Tower on November 27, 2013, in Livingston County. She survives. Also surviving is his son, Chase Simpkins, Chenoa; his mother, Joan Simpkins, Connersville, Indiana sister, Lisa (Jason) Haugher; brother, Josh (Melissa) Simpkins, both of Connersville, Indiana, and Abbi’s son, Kamron Tower, West Lafayette, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father; and a sister, Jenny. Brian worked for the local implement as an ag mechanic where he was known locally by the farmers as the “combine whisperer”, because of his expertise and skill in his work. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion and Wolf Creek Golf Course. He loved his friends especially his bowling team Cowboy & Indians.
