Brenda K. Mills Obituary (1953

Brenda K. Mills, age 71, of Pontiac, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 12:55 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at her residence in Pontiac, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, located at 903 W. Custer Ave, Pontiac, IL, 61764. A visitation will be held two hours prior to her service, starting at 9:00 a.m. until the time of her service at 11:00 a.m., also at the funeral home. Memorials in Brenda’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Brenda was born on September 29, 1953, in Gibson City to Pernie “Elizabeth” (Long) Moore. She preceded her in death. She married Gerald Mills on October 16, 1971, in Cullom, IL. He survives in Pontiac, IL. Other survivors include their children: Robert (Melanie) Mills of Minonk, IL, and David (Amy) Mills of Pontiac, IL; three beloved grandchildren: Brione Mills, Jacob Mills, and Nathan Mills. She is also survived by one sister: Kathy Gragson of Cornell, IL, and several nieces and nephews. Brenda graduated from Tri-Point High School. She then furthered her education at Kankakee Community College and earned her Nursing Degree. Brenda dedicated over 30 years of her life to work for OSF as a nurse in the Pontiac and Cullom area. She was a life-long member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pontiac, IL. Brenda enjoyed crafting, antiquing, and beautiful flowers. She also was an animal lover who enjoyed having pets around to take care of and love on. She also enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her husband. Most of all, Brenda loved her family deeply. She was notorious for picking on them and giving them a hard time to make them laugh and smile. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and making precious and unforgettable memories that will last forever with those she loves. She truly was the best Wife, Mom, Grandma, Sister, and Aunt. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
