Bonita "Bonnie" Faye Ribbe Obituary (1946 - 2022)

Bonita "Bonnie" Faye Ribbe, 75, of Heyworth, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022, at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL surrounded by her three children. Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service immediately following at the Heyworth Christian Church, Heyworth, IL. Memorial donations may be made to OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois - Congenital Heart Center. Bonnie was born December 3, 1946, in Fairbury, IL to Carl and Malinda (Timcke) Ehlers. She married Charles A. Ribbe June 23, 2012, in Gibson City, IL. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Cory (Tiffany) Laesch - Indianapolis, IN and Jay (Jenifer) Laesch - Heyworth; daughter, Kristin (Ryan) Kendrick - Bloomington; stepsons, Chuck (Ann) Ribbe - California and James (Pia) Ribbe - California; two sisters, Eileen Abel - Normal, IL and Norma George - Urbana, IL; grandchildren, Braydon and Quinn Laesch, Caden and Avery Kendrick, Braydon, Connor, Skyler, Charles, Brian, and Chloe Ribbe. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and one infant son. Bonnie worked as an administrative assistant in the Athletic Department at Illinois State University for many years followed by serving as executive assistant to the principal at University High School in Normal. She was a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Illinois Fighting Illini. Some of her favorite memories were of family trips to St. Louis every summer to watch the Cardinals play and watching her children show cattle at the McLean County and Illinois State Fairs. Her greatest passion though was her family. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren with all of her heart. She was always the biggest supporter of her kids and grandkids and attended all of their sporting events, recitals and competitions. Her heart was its fullest when all of her family was together for Christmas, Easter and other holidays and birthdays. The family would like to thank the entire staff at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center for their care and support over the past months and especially this past week. Our hearts break knowing that she is no longer here with us but find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain. She will now cheer us on from the best seat in the house.
