Bobby L. "Bob" Zimmerman Obituary (1933

Bobby L. "Bob" Zimmerman, 82, of Normal, passed away at 8:13 a.m. Friday, August 05, 2016 at his home. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Eastview Christian Church, Normal, with Rev. Jerry McCorkle officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of East Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spread Truth or Welcome Home Haiti. He was born August 13, 1933 in Forrest, a son of Louis and Louise Mueller Zimmerman. He married Judith A. Leman on February 23, 1958 in Fairbury and she survives in Normal. Also surviving are his children, Debra (Dave) Huber of Bloomington, Steve (Peg) Zimmerman of Normal, and Brian (Tina) Zimmerman of Ellsworth; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Glen (Mildred) Zimmerman of Forrest and Allen (Melba) Zimmerman of Fairbury; and his twin sister, Betty Hodel of Roanoke. He was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Bob served in the U.S. Navy and retired from D H Electric in 1996. Following his retirement, he spent many years working in maintenance at Calvary Baptist Church in Normal. Bob was an active member of Eastview Christian Church in Normal. He was a quiet, hardworking man who loved his family and his Lord.
