Blanche "Babe" Tracy Obituary (1933

LEXINGTON – Blanche “Babe” Tracy, 91, of Lexington, IL passed away peacefully at 1:22am, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at Arc of El Paso with family by her side. Cremation rites were accorded, and a graveside service will be at 10:30 Am Monday September 23, 2024, at the Lexington Cemetery with her granddaughter, Amanda Richards, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lexington Community Center or the Lexington Fire Department. Calvert-Johnson & Musselman Funeral Home, Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Babe, as most knew her, was born on May 26, 1933, in Colfax, IL the daughter of Christopher and Lela (Edwards) Hardt. She married William Tracy on February 25, 1950, in Lexington. Surviving are five children: Jeff (Joan) Tracy of Kimberling City, MO, Laura (Paul) Kahle of Gridley, Richard “Rich” Tracy (Martin Lorenz), Trophy Club, TX, Perry (Judy) Tracy of Lexington, and Tina (Rob) White of Hudson, IL; Grandchildren are: Dawn (Tom) Conaty, Cord (Amber) Tracy, Michael (Savannah) Wilkins, Austin (Maria) Wilkins, Adison (Aly) Wilkins, Ashlee Tracy, Cassy (Matt) Petersen, Courtney Tracy, Amy (Jeff) Krischel, Amanda (Brian) Richards, Robbie (Kathy) White, Whitney (Jamie) Dietsch, Will White, and Emma White. There are 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Mark, her parents and nine siblings, Frank, Richard “Rich”, Merritt “Dude”, Theodore “Red”, Kenneth “Kenny”, Fay, Katie, Virginia “Gin”, and Barbara. Babe worked many jobs including waitressing at many Lexington restaurants, Alexander Pencil Factory and being a monitor on the Lexington school bus, but her most important job was taking care of her family. When her son suffered kidney failure in the 1970’s she learned to run his dialysis machine at home while still taking care of the rest of the family. She was the definition of a hard-working, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
