Bernadine L. Tirey

Bernadine L. Tirey, 89, of Taylorville, IL died at 12:40 am Saturday, August 21, 2004 in St. Vincent Memorial Hospital, Taylorville, IL. She was born September 23, 1914 in St. David, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Leah M. Post Dozier. On December 23, 1933 she married Jack Farrimond in Taylorville, IL and he preceded in death on December 4, 1959. She then married Cecil W. Tirey on October 17, 1964 and he preceded in death on August 30, 1998. Mrs. Tirey was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Taylorville. She was also a member of the Navy Mother's Club, V.F. W. Auxiliary, St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and was an avid quilter and gardener.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Farrimond and wife Julie Kay Brignall Farrimond of Downers Grove, IL, David Farrimond and wife Mary Buzan Farrimond of Cape Cod, MA, and Daniel Farrimond and wife Julie Kay Lorenzini Farrimond of Ft. Wayne, IN. Half Sister, Esther Thomas of Taylorville, IL, Two Step-sons, Gene Tirey of Taylorville, IL and Donald Tirey of Albuquerque, NM. There are 7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren, 6 step Grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands and one son Stephen Samuel Farrimond.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 25, 2004 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL with Rev. Gerald Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 24, 2004 in McClure Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL.
