Benjamin "Ben" F. Mansfield Obituary (1934

Benjamin â€œBenâ€ F. Mansfield, 80 of Taylorville passed away at 12 Noon, Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the Meadow Manor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylorville. He was born January 25, 1934 in Hillsboro, IL son of Everett and Tobitha C. nee Bremer Mansfield. He married Janet Ryan in Taylorville in January 1955 and she preceded him in death on February 20, 1995. Ben had served his Country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force. He retired as a Welder from Caterpillar and was a member of the UAW. He headed up the Alcoholics Anonymous in Decatur. He loved to fish and his biggest love was watching the Illini Basketball games and the Chicago Cubs games. He is survived by his Daughter: Kimberly K. Phares of Taylorville; Son Benjamin E. Mansfield of Blue Mound; 8 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren, and many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Wife, Son John E. Mansfield, Brothers: Louis Mansfield, John Mansfield, Raymond Mansfield, Samuel Mansfield and Edward Mansfield and his Sister Frances Bayne. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Sutton Memorial Home with Reverend Jason Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Decatur. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of services Tuesday at the Sutton Memorial Home.
