Ben L. Welch

Ben L. Welch, 76 of LeRoy, passed away at 5:04 am Friday August 23, 2019 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal, Illinois.

A private family graveside service will be held. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington.

Ben was born January 7, 1943 in Birkbeck, Illinois, the son of Ben & Louise Welch. He married Bonnie Nerge on July 31, 1965 in Roselle, Illinois. She survives.

He is also survived by 3 children: Bradley Welch, Mike (Brandy) Welch and Amy (Brian) Spring; 5 grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Cindy Padilla and Janet Spence.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents and 2 siblings.

He had a great love of life and enjoyed helping others whenever he could. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He knew "a lot about a lot of things and a little bit about everything". He was a true blessing to all who knew and loved him!
