Barbara A. Blackshire

Barbara A. Blackshire 83, of Mt. Zion, IL went to heaven at 6:40 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

A private graveside service was held on July 3, 2026, in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion was assisting the family with services. Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at Calvertmemorial.com.

Barbara was born June 23, 1943, in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of Ernest and Marguerite (Van Dyke) Hawn. She married Reno Blackshire on August 26, 1975. He preceded her in death on August 16, 2024. Barbara retired from Sears & Robuck having had a successful career with the retailer. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion.

Surviving are her daughters: Robin Niehaus of Decatur, Kim Comparetto of Gainesville, FL, and Krystal Baer (John) of Decatur; sisters: Lois Frost of Altamont, IL and Wilma Daugherty; grandchildren: Ryan Braun (Alicia), Braxton Niehaus, Chase Niehaus, Isabella Niehaus, Brock Baer (Kiersten) Blaine Baer (Joe Bulinski); great-grandchildren: Brody Braun, Amity Braun, Ila Braun, and Blakely Baer.
