Ashton Michael Martinez Obituary (2010

Ashton Michael Martinez passed away suddenly on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 13. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac, IL. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Duffy-Baier-Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements. Ashton was born April 6, 2010, in Bloomington, IL. He is survived by his father, Ricky Martinez; mother, Kristina Rodriguez and his amigo, JJ Rodriguez; sister, Jersey Martinez; family members, Megan Eaton, Caedyn Eaton, and Nevaeh Harrington; grandparents, Dawn and David Hanson and Linda and Brian Terrel; one great grandma; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ashton was in 8th grade at Pontiac Junior High School. At an early age, teachers realized Ashton’s affinity for mathematics, and he was put into advanced math. Ashton was always smiling and laughing and loved making others laugh as well. In his short life, he exuded so much love for family, friends, everything anime, and animals. With his passing, we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his gorgeous blue eyes and his winning smile, he will forever remain in our hearts. We were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents, brother, sister, grandparents, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Wesley Wiles, and his paternal grandma, Diane Farrar. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Livingston County Humane Society, where Ashton adopted his black cat, Soos.
